NEWS

***The SOAP Box Derby (June 6th, 2009)

June 6th 2009, at the SOAP Box Derby

The first edition of the Running of the balls was a total success. Over $1000 raised for youth, a good push for our organization.

A sunny day where SKETCH gave the opportunity to all to try to make a volunteer fall in the dunk tank, to guess how many gumballs we can find in a 2 liter, to shave some balloons without popping it, and to get some face painting. A great success!

Thanks to the main organizers, Dylan Armstrong and Jonathan Marquis. Thanks to all volunteers for the event, to Fusion, to Katimavik and everybody else that helped us at a certain point.

Have a look at the pictures !

SKETCH is heating up!

Sketch

Sketch Orléans is here to answer the question « So what do we do now ? » Easy as that, for youth and by youth.  Here’s our plan:

  1. Organize events and activities in Orléans like TOAST, GART, etc.
  2. Develop youth social enterprises / youth co-ops (upcoming)
  3. Get a place to “chill” in Orléans… like with pool tables, couches, music, food, etc.

Step  3 will probably only happen in a few years.  We need you to make sure that it happens for real!  Questions, comments, ideas… don’t be shy and write us!

TOAST'08 drew over 500 people.
