Questions anyone?

Question mark
  • Why are you doing this?
    _________________________________

Because you said you wanted "Somewhere to go and something to do in Orléans".  And because it's obvious that it needs to get done.

  • Who is this for?
    _________________________________

You.

We're targeting teens 12 to 18 years old... There are over 16,000 teens just in Orléans so it was about time that we start listening to them. Click here to leave us your info.

  • When will we do stuff?
    _________________________________

Now. Check out our picture  and events sections.

  • Where is it going to be?
    _________________________________

We're using what’s out there: stages, parks, empty rooms, gyms and whatever else we can find.

Our goal for the future to have an actual place to chill big enough to fit more than a couple of old couches and a TV.  See our home page for more info...

  • What kind of stuff will we do?
    _________________________________

The question is: "What kind of stuff do you want to do?" We've got a ton of ideas, like battle of the bands, pick-up games like soccer, volleyball and ultimate, capture the flag, sk8 competitions...

Can you think of anything else? Click here and let us know.  Even better, get involved with the Fusion Association and be "in the heart of the action"!

  • What if we have a problem and need help?
    _________________________________

If you ask us for help, we’ll do our best to refer you to someone who can help you. We have a list of people that are trained to deal with your issues.  Just let us know what you need.

  • Will it be bilingual?
    _________________________________

Yes – Oui.

  • What’s your stand on drugs and alcohol?
    _________________________________

If we have to shut down because of drugs or alcohol, then we’re back to where we started… with nothing to do. So what’s the point?  You already know what's right and wrong...!

  • Who started this project?
    _________________________________

Two guys from Orléans, three years ago.  When we were bored, we did something out of "nothing".  One day, we started to do this.

  • Who’s backing you in this project?
    _________________________________

These guys are cool.  We would not be here without them.

  • What's this I hear of you being a "social enterprise"?
    _________________________________

The Governement of Canada provides the following definition for social enterprises: "Social economy enterprises are a component of the social economy that are run like businesses, producing goods and services for the market economy, but manage their operations and redirect their surpluses in pursuit of social and environmental goals.”

Basically, we are a nonprofit organization that is working like a business.  We want to have an economic activity on the market in order to generate revenue that we can use to realize our (social) mandate with youth.  In other words, money does not go in our pockets and we do not maximize profits... revenues go in the organization so that we can do even more for youth and profits stay in the community.

This also means developing a business plan and taking time to do things one step a time.  But, if we do it right, it should be part of the key for our long-term success and also ensure our financial sustainability... well to some extent at least!
